Hi, my name is Debbi; I own and operate
Pets-at-Home Pet Sitting and I want to be your professional pet
sitter! Because you may be entrusting your precious pet(s) to my
care, I want you to know a little about my background and
experience.
Pets-at-Home was founded in 2001. I am certified in pet CPR and
first aid through Red Cross and PetTech. As with any profession,
continuing education is important and I attend at least one pet
sitting conference a year to keep current in the pet care field
and renew my Pet first aid certification every two years.
After spending many years living the
corporate life with a career in business and human resources
management, one day I discovered I no longer enjoyed what I was
doing and determined it was time for a career change. I have
always loved animals, so I decided to follow my passion and
pursue a career working with them. That is how I came to start
Pets-at-Home Pet Sitting. What could be a better job than caring
for your pet?
I come from a family of animal lovers and
have a lifetime of experience caring for my own pets and
recognize that pets are a part of the family. I know what it is
like to be a pet sitting client and know pet owners demand the
highest level of competent care for their pets. With
Pets-at-Home, you will receive professional customer service and
dependable, compassionate care and loving attention for your
pets.
Through the years I have owned a variety of
dogs, cats and birds. At one time, my husband and I shared our
home with six pets (two dogs, a cat and three birds). Today we share our home with two Standard
Schnauzers, Liza and Chance.

My Pets
Liza
We discovered the Standard
Schnauzer breed in 1992, after owning our Miniature Schnauzer (Roxy)
for six years. The Standard Schnauzer is a high-spirited,
affectionate and highly intelligent dog and is known as "the dog
with the human brain". We decided this was the breed for us and
got Liza in early 1993. She was a real handful as a pup, but she
matured into a very special and wonderful dog. You will
notice her ears tip in a little (and no, they aren’t supposed
to look that way), so she looks a bit unique. She loves to swim
in the summer and demands to be the center of attention when
anyone is in the pool.

Chance
The newest member of our family. We
decided one Standard Schnauzer was not enough. Chance is seven years old and still
very active. He is full of life and
energy. His breeder showed him and finished his
championship at 15 months. Chance is a beautiful dog and can
easily win your heart, even if he is a bit mischievous. He loves to eat ice and comes running when
the freezer door is opened. Chance has completed beginning
obedience training and earned the AKC's Canine
Good Citizen (CGC) ceritification. CGC is a reward for
dogs who have good manners at home and in the community.

Memory:

J.D.
(1989 - 2005)
JD was a cinnamon Cockatiel who lived to be
almost 17 years old. He talked
and liked to whistle the Andy Griffith Show theme song. J.D. liked
to say, "pretty bird, pretty bird, pretty bird …" like a broken
record with an occasional "what ya do' in" and "birds can’t talk"
thrown in. He loved to hear the piano play and would chirp
as soon as he heard the first note. He is greatly missed
and with his loss it is the first time I have not had a bird in
the house for over 30 years.
